GOSPEL TEMPERANCE.

The fortnightly meeting of the Tlnwald Goipel Temperance Sooiety and Band of Hops wib held on Taeadoy evening In the Presbyterian Ohoroh. The Rev A. Blake took the chair and opened the meeting. An addresi was given by Mr G. W. Andrews;, calling for Increased effort and determination In the great temperance movement. A dialogae, entitled "The T^mperance'.Gloves," was gives by Masters John Lewis and Daniel Oairnoross, and four yoang people united In the song "For we are yoang abstainers. 1 ' Readings were given by Messrs Oalverhonse and J. Gqdsell. Recitations were given by Mesara A. 0, Blabs and Shlletto and Mies A, LewN. Songs were contributed by Mtssei Meharry, Mies and E. M. Blake. Several hymns were sung from Hoyle'a book, and alio the " Emperor Frederick's favorite hymn." It was announced that the Committee woald glvs two prizes for the best essay on the subject " Why I am an abstainer," competition open to any member of the Society or Band of Hope. There was a large attendance, and the meeting was apparently very mnoh enjoyed.
