Lord Salisbury has informed His supporters that if party discipline is relaxed , the Government will be compelled to introduce only the mildest measures, ' The Opposition have given notice of a motion censoring the Gtovernmerit for their administration of the Crimes Act, At a meeting of the Unionist party to-day, summoned by the Marquis of Hartington, it was agreed to continue their support to the present Ministry, m order to keep the Gladstone ascendancy back. A political crisis has therefore been averted. In the House of Commons Mr Morley has tabled a motion " That the present administration of Ireland undermines respect ior the law, estranges the support of the Irish people, and injures the common interests of the kingdom." The motion will be debated on Monday. London, Jane 23. The Liberal-Unionists have resolved to support the withdrawal of the licensing clauses m the Local Government Bill, provided the Government will allow the - debate on Mr Cochrane Stephenson'a Sunday Closing Bill. Mr W. H. Smith, leader of the house of Commons, has agreed to the proposal. - v -
