PRESENTATION.

The friends of Mr and Mrs Dunr, met at Mr D. Thomas' office last evening f r the purpoie of making a presentation to that lady and gentleman as a token of the esteem m which they were held during their ten years residence fcere. There was a large attendance, and a oum^ ber of gentlemen who .were unavoidably detained, forwarded apologies for their absence. The presentation took tho form of a handsome silver tea and coffee set, suitably engraved and also a purse for Mrs Dunn. The presentation was made by Mr Thomas who boro testimony to the willing and va'nablo assistance always lent by Mr and Mrs Dunn m promoting works of charity, and ia the Indefatigable efforts of Mr Dunn daring his residence here to further the interests of the district. The toast of tbe guests of the evening was drank with enthusiasm, Messrs T. Bealy, E, J Paul and others speaking m high terms of Mr Dunn's worth as a citizen, and adding their testimony that he had proved himself a friend of tbe tradespeople and farmers of tbe County. Mr Dunn returned thanks In a neat speeob, and Mr Paul on b«balf of Mra Dunn expressed that lady's acknowledgment. The other toasts were " The oommerical Interests," responded f o by Messrs A. Orr and H; Zander; " The^ agricultural Interests," Messrs S. Brown, G. Lamb, J. Otchrane and M. Fried Under ; " The Caledonian Society," Mr Q. Reid. « The Press " proposed by Mr T, Scaly and " The ladies " proposed by Mr J, Scaly concluded tha toast list. The singing of '* Auld Lane; Syne " by all present brought a very enjoyable meeting to a dose.
