Oa that interesting occasion, when tbrae generations of her family gathered around her to offer con* gratulations on the auspicious occasion, representatives of every class m the community manifested by the'.r presence the wide-spread respect and esteem she had won throughout Canterbury for her many good qualities. For considerably oVer half a oemury she has been the helpmate, adv ser and best friend of the venerable and respected Bishop. Severe as is the loss of her family, aud deeply as it will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her, the bereavement of the Bishop ii still greater, It may at least be some mitigation of the blow to -know that both tho Bishop and his family have the heart felteympathy of al! m the community The deoeaaed lady was 84 years of age.
