New Plymouth, June 12. The Hawera laffc the anchorage at Onehunga about noon on Monday, crossed the bar about two hours later and arrived off the breakwater about midnight She anchored outside about haif-piet six this morning. She hove anchor so as to come into harbor and to get alon^-iide df the wbatf m time for the train &b ahe had aome passengers for tbe express. It was low water at the time, Th« anchor when being hove slipped off its fastening and was lost. All on board are very reticent. According to accounts the steamer thrn proceeded up the harbor to take up her berth at the wba>f making. the uaual detour towards the shore to do so.
