Stanhope, Secretary of State for War, has ordered the Volunteer foice to be brigaded, m order to facilitate mobilisation m event of emergency. Lord Wolseley asserts that a concensus of opinion exists among Naval and Military authorities that with the facilities now offered by steam and rail, with the almost defenceless condition of the coast and the insufficient strength of the fleet England might be invaded. Athens, Jane 8. The difficulty between Turkey and Greece has been revived. The Governor of Monastor has refused to receive despatches from Greece. The consuls of both countries are endeavoring to arrange the misunderstanding diplomatically.
