The ward accounts hare £18,355 standing to credit, and there ii £1631 to credit of the free llbrity, and £3192 to the Rood of the Water Works Ooneervatlon Fond. A largety attended meeting of f<*ait growers was held to-day at the Industrial Association rooms, the Mayor presiding, when it was decided to send a telegram to the Legislative Oonnoil, requesting it to throw out the OodUn Moth Bill. It was also agreed that if Government will entirely prohibit the importation of all fruit of the oUun infected by the oodiln moth, and admit duty free the material for the destruction of Insect pests, «od employ a skilled Entomologist to experiment, and aid frait growers, the growers them, selves will arrange much more effective measures than is possible under the proposed law; Mr Waddell, Chairman of the Harbor Board, and ex-Mayor of the city, died to-day. Certain points were reserved, one. being misdirection of the Ohief Justice to the jury, and, seoondly, whether by reason of the omission of the interpretation of the evldenoe the male prisoner ought to have been oonvloted.
