+ From the "Bible Standard" published at Auckland, we oxtraot the folio win,? • _ " Of the work m Timarn I would rather not apeak, and as Mr Brown has intimated his willingness to supply a report 1 paes on to notice the three nights given to Ashburton, May 14, 15, and 16 This plaoe was attacked under difficulties, I was Buffering from a bad oold, with headaohe, sore throat and hoarseness. At the first meeting (held m the Orange Hall), about forty persona were present; bat though the audience was email, I found that I bad a very oritlcal band of listeners, At the close of my address, I was plied with questions for over an hour, and my voioe giving way I had to beg off until the ensuing night. Our next meeting found the audience increased to one hundred persons. Again the questions came thick i and fast, BeiDg m better trim I kept up until the questions were exhausted. On the Wednesday night the climax was reaohed, the hall was crowded, and I was on my feet for three boars and a quarter The meeting did not close till twenty minutes past eleven. The hall doors were open and the vestibule was crowded with anxious hearers, and not half a dozen persons left the building until 'the benediction was pronounced. A vote of thanks was proposed and seconded by two prominent Wesieyans, and the round of applause which followed Bhowed that the truth had •truck home. Many expressed their regret that a longer stay could not be made, and declared that if I would return they would secure the largest hall m the town. Here again I receive evidenoe that this is glorious work. ' When the minds of men tad women oan receive the truth concerning their own nature and God's provision for it, they are filled with ' joy UD«pe«kab!e.'
