CORN EXCHANGE.
The followiug is the Corn Exchange -eport for the week ending Friday, June lst,1888:Daliveries by rail have visibly fallen off, and now supplies have chiefly to be drawn from ex store parcels. The London market again shows a drooping tendency, bat our looal market is more influenced by the quantity of space offering than by outside demand. The prices offering are not Buffioient to induoe holders to take from store. Intercolonial trade is especially slaok, and the Australian trade is almost at a standstill. The majority of potatoes are going forward on owners' aooount. Wheat.— Tusoan has had a good sale at 2a B£d to 23 9d, and large parcels ex store for special orders would oemtnand a fraction more. Pearl is m good looal demand at 2a 8d to 2s 9d. Hunter's, however, which is offering far more plentifully than other lines, is quiet at 2s 7d to 2s 7£d; second quality is very dull at 2s 6d. Chicken wheat. —Broken is offering plentifully at la lOd to 2s. Oats. — Milling are firm at 2s to 2s Id ; ' short feed, Is lOd to Is lid. Both have good demand. Long descriptions are not offering m any great quantity, but are not specially enquired for. Barley— prime is still worth 4s 3d to 4a 4d ; little, however, is offering ; medium quality has been changing hands at 3s 6d to 8s 9d, and inferior, 2s 6d ; feed is quiet at Is 9d to 2s ; beanß are dull at 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; and Prussian Blues are without change at 2s 6d to 2s 9d ; feed are moving off at 2s 3d to 2s 4d. Grass seed is without change, maohine dressed, at 2s 6d to 2s 7d } farmers' parcels vary from Is 9d to 2s; cocka--1 foot is not so brisk although prioes remain at 3£d to 3£d for bright dressed heavy seed, and 3d for ordinary Bamples. Potatoes remain at 20s at country stations. Dairy produoe butter 8d has been given for prime, Cheese has only a moderate trade at 2|d to 3£d aooording to the size and quality. The above prices are those paid to farmers for , delivery f.0.b., Lyttelton. Sacks extra.
