ASHBURTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

Mr D. Thomas reports upon the live stook [ market for the Ashburton Distriot for the week ending May 29th, as follows:— On Tuesday at the Aebburton Yards we held our usual weekly Bale of sheep, pigß, and oattle. Tho weather was particularly wet, and although we had a good number of sheep entered, it was almost impossible to. travel them, and the sale reßulted m the smallest catalogue we have bad for a long time. The total entry for the day was about 1500 sheep and 3 head of cattle, which sold at the following prioes :— Pat crossbred owes from 7a to 8s 3d ; merino owes, 3s 2d ; store merino wethers, 2a 4d; merino ewes, Is 8d; twotooth orossbred oulls, 4s sd. We also placed privately a line of merino ewea m lamb at 8s 3d. Fat oattle no entry. On Thursday I held a clearing sale at Mr George Cole's of his farm, stock, and implements. For the farm a bona fido bid of £8 7a 6d was offered and declined ; but the whole of the implements and Btook were sold at satisfactory pricoff. Drays, £8 10s, £12 10s; tip oart, £8; double.furrow ploughs, US and £10 ; harrows, £4 ; short oats, la ll.sd ; wheat, 2a 6d ; fat orossbrod lambs, 7s 4d ; fat orossbrod owob, 7s Id ; horses, £8, £13, £15, £15 10a, £19, £21 ; bacon piga, 39a to 43a ; bows m pig, £1 Ba, £1 9a, £2 10s, £2 17a Gd, £3 14a ; harness at late ratos. I have aleo sold the homestead farm of Mr F. Le Breton at £4 per aore.
