AUSTRALIANS V GENTLEMEN OF ENGLAND.
(PKR FBXSS ASSOCIATION.) London, May 29. In the orfoket match yesterday, Gentlemen v. Australian Eleven, Grace and Shuter scored 153 between them, without giving a single chanoe before Shuter played the ball on the wicket, The bowling was changed six times, but the batsmen had the bowling completely collared. Grace sooted 50 m the last hour of the day's play, and as an exhibition of splendid cricket his play was the finest ever eeen on Lord's Ground. The day's scoring by the Gentlemen was at the rate of 70 runs an hour. McDonnell injured his hand early m the game, and was unable to field. . The spectators numbered over 11,000. It has been found impossible to extend the matoh over Monday m consequence of the Derby being run to-morrow. The Australians m their second innings have lost 2 wickets for 213 runs. In reference to the orloket matoh, Lancashire against the Australians, the cablegrams received on Saturday were mutilated m transmission, and a subsequent correction distinctly stated that the Australians scored m their seoond innings 66 for two wickets. A further oablegram from the Sydney offioe to-night states that the Australians' total score m the second inninga was 66. Lancashire, therefore, won the matoh by 24 runs,
