TO THE EDITOR, As an old ex-Volunteer, and one who takes an interest m volunteering I must expresß my BorprißO that any member of & Volunteer company should be guilty of such bad taßte (independent of it being against the Volunteer regulations) as to write to the press and air real or Bnpposod grievances regarding volnnceeriog matters for the benefit of an un-intereßted public. This quibbling over whether Major Newall's remarks were, or were not, re ported verbatim is undignified and un volunteer like m the extreme. Let " Troth " (if he ib a Volunteer), and Mr James Keir kindly think these remarks over, and I am sure they will hare the good neDße to see the advisability of abstaining from rushing into print over such matters for the future.
