London, May 14. It is stated that at an informal meeting of the Irish prelates at Dublin to-day opinions were expressed that the promulgation of the Papal decree was inopportune and unjustified m the present state of the country. Mr Thomas Dickson, Parnellite, has been returned for St. Stephen's Green, Dublin, by a mijority of 1877 over his opponent, Mr i obert Sexton, Unionist.
