The prooeas saves from 96 to 97 percent on assay valoa, and as much of the talllngejon the Thames foreshore are worth considerably over 7dwt per too, the venture ahoald prove very remunerative, In further pursuance of the scheme of retrenchment the, Board of Education have adopted the folio wing regulations m reference to pupil teachers : — " That pupil teachers who have completed their term of three years' service and have tolly passed the examination for certificate m olasa E or D be raised to the rank of assistant teaohets, with salary as follows :— If classified full D, £60 a year ; If classified full E, £50 a year. (2) That from and after July Ist, 1888, the salaries of the pupil teachers Who had completed the term of^hroe years' service prior to the 31st-Oatober; 1887, the data of entry for the last teaohera 1 examination, and who, being then not less than nineteen years of age, have fully passed the examination for a certificate, ba regulated as follows *.
