The market rate of discount is now equal to the Bank rate -—2 per cent. The Antwerp Wool auctions opened yesterday with great animation. The prices Bhow an advance of five centimes on the closing sales m January. Of the 18,4000 bales available 350 are from Australia. Sydney, May 10. Wheat is a little firmer ; milling sorts arc quoted at from 3s 4d to 3s 6d ; fowl wheat, 2s lOd ; oats, best feed, 2s Id to 2s 3d : seed oats, 2s 3d ; maize is firm at 2s 6d ; pollard, lOd ; bran, lOd ; potatoes — New Zealand, 55s ; Circulars, 60b ; Warrnambool, 45s ; onions are ecasce at 90s ; butter — local, Is Gd ; imported, lOd to Is Id; cheese— medium, 3d ; best, Gd ; large loaf, 6£d ; farm seeds of all kinds are unobtainable. Adelaide, May 10 Wheat, 3s 3d to 3s 3£d for shipping lots ; farmers' lots at port, 2s lid to 3s Id ; flour, roller-made, £8 10s ; stone-made, £7 10s ; bran, lid ; pollard, lid ; oats, 2s 8d and 2s lOd ; malting barley, 5s to 5s 6d. At auction Mauritius sugar realised to £22 5s for medium whites ; fine whites realised £22 12s 6d ; finest whites, £23 7s sd. Advices have been received from Mauritius to the effect that the sugar crop is one of the best for many years past. Holders have reduced their prices by a few cents on last month's quotations.
