The case for the prosecution was that she took tho cattle from tho farm of Alexander Bobs at Forrcßt Hill on the night of the 9th April, and drove them to Mataur?, a distance of over 20 miles, and so.d them at an auction sale on the 10 th. For the defence a number of witneEses were called, who swore positively that she waa driving a reaper on her mother's farm at Forrest Hill on tbe 13th, and could not posßibly have been at Mataura.
