THE REV. C. H. SPURGEON'S SECESSION.

In connection with the Rev. C. H. Spurgeon's recent charges of heresy, a motion has been carried by the Baptist Union to the effect that it is expedient, to provide further theological tests for membership, inasmuch as the Union already possess sufficient power to deal with the evangelistic section, The motion was seconded by the Rev. T- A. Spurgeon, brother to the Rev. Charles Spurgeon, and was carried by a large majority. It is thought the carrying of the resolution will have the effect of allaying the quarrels in the churches.
