CONFLICT WITH THE MILITARY.

Dublin, Apcll i. In cod sequence of the determination of the Nationalists to hold a meeting} the police and troops were held m readiness at Loughrea, County Galway. Mr D. O'Brien commenced to address the meeting, bat the police interfered and a conflict ensued, during which thirty persons were inj ured . Finally the crowd was dispersed. Mr Charles Tanner eluded the police and addressed a meeting outside Macroom, nineteen miles west of Cork, at six o'clock m the evening. The crowd on returning to town, were charged by the police and dispersed. At other parts of Clare and Cork conflicts occurred between the people and the police, many persons being injured on both sides. Order was restored by the evening. Dublin, April 9. There have been collisions between the troops and Nationalists at Ennis, Nanturk and. Kilrush, m which several people were sabred by the troops. At Ennis seventy- five arrests were made, Messrs JJavitt, Healey, O'Brien, and Tanner, MP.'s, were very active, and made strong efforts to hold surprise meetings. Their efforts. in this direction, however, were checked by the police. Messrs Redmond, O'Reilly and Davitt, M.P.'s, also attempted to hold meetings m different parts of the country to prove the vitality of the National League, No fatalities are reported m connection with the recent attempts to hold meetings, but several people were seriously hurt by the sabres of the cavalry. At Ennis the hussars drove the people before them, singing " JEtule Britannia."
