Auckland, April?. At a public meeting held by the Gospsl Temperance Mission at Panmuro last night a shocking- case of sudden death occurred The meeting was about to conclude, when Mr B-irker, of Panmure, who waa sitting among the audience, appeared to faint away. _ Every means were used to reatora animation, but to no purpose. Ho never rallied, and death must have been instantaneous. It is probable the cause was heart disease. Barker's wife was proaont at. the mooting, and was very- much afbetad, as were all the audience.
