Adelaide, March 29
M, Levi, M. Pasteur's nephew, with M. Girmont, a French doctor, are passengers by the Cuzco. They come .to Australia to conduct experiments m connection with M. Pasteur's rabbit extermination scheme. M. Levi, m reply to an interviewer, stated emphatically that the possibility of any ill effects from the experiments had been disproved. M. Pasteur's disease, with which it was proposed to infect the rabbits, was not allied to cholera, and M. Levi stated that persons had been infected and also poultry without experiencing the slightest in- . convenience or discomfort. He also stated that after being infected, the rabbits die painlessly within twentyfour hours. In reply to further questions, M. Levi said he was not aware what effect the disease would have upon the skins. London. March 28. Sir Dillon Bell has had an interview with M. Pasteur with reference to the latter's scheme for exterminating rabbits. Sir Dillon appears satisfied that the introduction of microbes is feasible, and could be used with safety. The full nature of the interview has not been disclosed, but it is understood that M, Pasteur revealed tlie whole process of his scheme to the New Zealand representative.
