Mr Wilson, of Broken Hill Proprietary Mine, yesterday offered the proprietors of the Bittery Company, Ta Aroha, £25,000 for four-fifths of the Company's mine and battery. The offer was declined, and negoolations were then apparently broken off, bat were renewed to-day, when an offer to sell the property for £30,000 was made. This Mr Wilson declined, and he waa about to proceed to Australia by the ■teamer. A short time before the departure of the vessel, however, an agreement for the disposal of the Company's interests was arrived at, and a memorandum of agreement was signed right off Under this the Company is to receive £25,000 cash for four-fifths of their property, the remaining onefifth to be retained by the Company, and to be represented by fully paid-up shares m any Company tbat may be formed by the purchaser. In addition to this, Mr Wilson pays £4000 for the Silver King mine, which adjoins the Battery Company's property.
