(Received March 22, 1.15 pin) Sydney, March 22. Mr Haynes, member for Hume, m the course of his speech last night m the House of Assembly, denounced Protectionists and Catholics. This raised the ire of Mr James Fletcher, member for Newcastle, and he walked over to Haynes, seized him by tbe ] throat, threw him on to a seat and held \ him there. Several members only with the greatest difficulty succeeded m dragging Fletcher off. Amid great excitement Fletcher was then arrested by the Sergeant-at-Arms, and after apologising freely was suspended for the remainder of the sitting.
