ANOTHER HUMAN HAND MYSTERY.
There is a human hand mystery at Goolong. Mounted-constable Wilson, acting on a report received, proceeded to St. Leonards aud found a human arm and hand, which had beea washed ashore and lay partly einbodded m th-j eand. The bones and the flesh from the elbow downwards were sound. The remains had apparently only been a few days m the water. The flesh and muscles m tho upper portion of the arm, from about an inch above the elbow down to the cap which worked on the shoulder socket, had been removed, presumably by fish. The hand was small and slender, leading to the inference that it was that of a woman. In the sand where the remains were found half-buried w*as a piece of hardwood weatherboard, with the words inscribed on it, " Beneath this lies a human hand and arm found by John Nang, March 2, 1888." The writing appeared to have been newly executed, and ia believed to ba the work of one of the QueensclifE excursionists who visited the locality.
