Napier, March 14. The leader of a gang of larrikins who has been watched by the police for some time, was sentenced by the Resident Magistrate to five months' Imprisonment for using obscene language and destroying property. Several other members of the gang were dealt with more leniently. oHHiBiCHimo&, March 14 A conferenoe of School Committees was held to-night to consider the poaition of educational matters. Eighteen Oouimitteeß were represented. A Committee of aeveD was appointed to receive auggeatlona from Qommlttepa as to matters of Interest In the present state of affairs, and to report to a future meeting. The Volunteera have finally decided to hold a camp at Harewood six miles from Ohrlatohurch at Kaater, Oorp3 will ration themselves, but tenta transport and fael will be provided.
Oamaru, March 14. At the Supreme Court sittings to-day John Oconey and Jatnea Scott wera each sentenced to three yeara for burglary. John Cowley and Jameß^Flnn were senxenoed to three years eaatt for an attempt to commit an abominable offence.
1 Dunbdin; March 14. Dr J. T. Rennle, who Is connected with the Canadian lady doctor, was committed for trial to-day for alleged indecent assault on a girl 17 years of age, who was consulting him. Is was contended for the defence that the charge was a trumped-up one. Bail was allowed, and Rennfo released.
