Sydney, March 8. A company is being formed after the style of the London Safe Deposit Company, to build vaults for the safe storage of valuables. The police are taking steps to prevent the prize fight which has been arranged between Burk* and L.' Foley. The police also intend to make provision that m the future no fight to a finish will be allowed.
The man Cross, who was gunning corjsultations on horseracing under the name of VV. Miller, has been arrested on the ground that numerous investors complained that the originator of fhe sweeps could not be found. When Cross was searched letters enclosing bans notes and cheques from all parts of Wew Zealand and Australia were found upon him.
Ii the Legislative Assembly Mr G. R. Dibbs has tabled a motion of want of, confidence m the present Government, on the ground that the report of the Committee as to the circumstances surrounding the purchase of Circular Quay discloses injudicious and unsatisfactory administration by the Governmert. On the other hqnd, the Goyernme» t consider that the report entirely exonerates them from blame. The House has adjourned until Tuesday m consequence.
