The d-m»nd Bhowed a smart recovery from rbcent markes, and a rioe of abot 10j per head took placa. Skonra sold at from £5 fcj £6 2i Gi par head ; heifers and fat c >wa at from £3 15i to £6 sj, bainsf at from 15 1 to 19i per 1001 b, according as the quality varied.
Stoke Cattlb.— The market waa very lightly eappliod, there being an entire absence of gcod Hoes ; the oid lota on offar sold Bt recant rateo. The dairy OtUle market waa better supplied than of lute, some very good milch cows heiog oo offer ; the demand for such comiag into immediiti profit showed an itnr>rovam u nt over lite business, and from £3 10» to £3 15s wer.i v»lnaa reached, inferior heads, at from £3 to £4
Fat Sheep.— A. full market, quality varied ; on the whole a good entry ; d em* tid fairly brisk; freezes and West Coast buyers helping local demand Values throughout the sale about on a par with last wepk's rates Crossbred wethers from 8s 61 to 10 j 6i ; light weights, 6a 9i t0.75 9 '; orossbrid evroa from 5s 61 to bb high as B » 6 i ; merlon wethers, from 53 to 7a, being at J£i to lsi per lb according to quality. Stobb Shbkp.— A very large entry on offer. A good demand was shown, and almost or quite an entire clearance effected. For good young sheen late values vrere perhaps more than maintained. Four-tooth wethera sold op to 7a per head ; do ewes, from 4a 6i to 7s Id. A line of store lambs sold at 3a Id, and aged ewes at from 2* 3d to 33 6d.
Fat Shbkp —A large number yarded ; quality varied, m some cases exceptionally good ; demand fairly active, •• fre zsrß" taking suitable lines ; the beat sorts sold at from 63 91 to 7a 6d, m one case as high as 8i 6) ; othT Borta, 4j 6d to 5- 6). Fat Pigs. — A very tmall nnmber on offer ; late values remain firm.
