TWO SYDNEY TRAGEDIES.
Sydney, March 6.
Carrol, the man who brained his wifetfvith an axe on Sunday afternoon, and who afterwards cut his throat, is still alive, At the inquest on tbe body of the woman, a verdict of murder was returned.
At the coronor's inquest on the body of the jockey Osborne, who was stabbed at Marilda on Saturday, a verdict of murder was returned against Merritt. The men were mates. No cause is assigned for the dispute which had such a tragical termination.
