A SYDNEY TRAGEDY.

Sydney, March 3. A man named Carroll Winter brained his wife with an axe this afternoon m a fit of drunken rage, and he then cut his own throat. The disturbance aroused the neighbors, who gave the alarm to the police. Upon the latter breaking into the premises the house was found to be saturated with blood. The unfortunate woman was quite dead when discovered by the police, and the man has inflicted such injuries upon himself that he is not expected to recover.
