[Pbb Press Association.] london, February 28. Consols, 102§. The Bank rate of discount is 2^ per cent. ; the niaiket rate 2 per cent. New Zealand inscribed stock £99 15s. Wheat and flour are unchanged since last quotations. Leather lower. Best sides are quoted at 10W to lid. Frozen meat is firmer, with an improving tendency. j The quantity of wool which has arrived to date for the next sales, including that which was held orer from last sales, is 96,000 bales. It is probable that the additional quantity to arrive will bring up the total to 350,000.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable message from London, dated 28th February :—
Wheat — The tone of the market is flat. .New Zealand average and New Zealand long-berried are worth respectively 32s and 33s per 49 Gibs. Adelaide wheat to arrive, iron ship, is worth ci.f. 33s 3d per 480 lbs, March-April bill of lading.
Leather— The market is quiet. Best Bides are worth lOfd per lb.
