ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET

The following ia a report of Wednesday's market : — Moderate entries of cattle, good entries of sheep, and about an average attendj ance of buyers and others interested, and beautiful weather at Addington this day Fat Cattle. — The smallest entry that has been seen here for a long time past, quality pretty good and even ; small attendance of buyers, but the soant supply caused values to improve about 10s per Dead, and steers were at from £5 to £6 per head and heifers and cows from £4 7a 6d to £5, being about from 15b to 16a 6d per 1001 b. Store Cattle, — Also a very limited entry. Demand, however, was almost nil, a pen of two of three-year-old steers being passed unsold. A line of three-year-old heifers were Bold at £2 IGs per head ; another line cf small yearlings at from IGs to 25s thirty monthß old, ditto, at £2 6a per head.

Dairy Stock. — A small entry, and dull demaud. Good cows sold at from £-1 to £5 10a ; ordinary, ditto, £2 10b to £3.

Fat Sheep. — A pretty good number, though not a full market, quality fairly good throughout, demand modorately active, freezers helping off with the besi lines, values Bhow an improvement of about Gd per head compared with laat week's market. Crossbred wethers sold at from 8a to 9s 6J ; halfbred, 7s 9d ; crossbred ewes, 5s 3d to 7s; merino wethers, 4s to Gs -8d per head. Valueg per lb averaged at from l£d to ljd per lb, accordiog to quality. j_tob.e Shebp. — A good number yarded, principally young sheep, for which an active healthy demand was manifested, improvod values ruling. The followiug are the sales effected. 384 aged owes at 2s 7d and 2s 8d ; 2GI merino wethers at 3a Id ; 47 crossbred ewes at 4s lOd ; 538 4-tooth crossbred wethers at from 6s 6d to 7s ; 108 2-tooth j mixed erossbreds at 4s 8d ; 122 oros.bred ewes at 4s ; 130 mixed 2-tooth at 4s lid ;92 4* tooth crossbred ewes at 7s.

Fat Lamb?, — A fair number on offer. Various degree, of quality. Demand pretty good. Values aB follows :— Best sorts, 53 to 6s per bead ; inferior to medium, 3s 6d to 4s 3d.

Pigs: — The first large entry for a long time, a consignment from the North swelling the looal supply. The greater portion of the entry were good stores, Tho demand for all kinds was very active, values showing a great improvement, small pigs sold at from 6s to 9s 6d each ; stores, 14s to 22s ; porkers from 26s 6d to 325, and a few heavy weightß up to 40s eaoh.
