The poll tax of -£io which is expected from all Chinese landing m the colony will, it is believed, put a stop to a sudden invasion of Chinese at Port Darwin en toute for the ruby mines. Should, however, this course fail all vessels arriving with Chinese will be quaiantined until the Legislative Assembly can pass regulations restricting their admission into South Australia. The authorities m Victoria and New South Wales are m accordance with the authorities here m preventing the influx of Chinese.
