J Mrlbournc February 16. The Governmenl having received no reply from the Imperial Government ito the communication sent them respecting the admission of foreign warships into Port Philip, have determined to immediately frame tegulations restricting the admission of such vessels. Mr Ernest Favene, the explorer, who is compiling a history of Australian explora'ion,9nd Mr Cuthberts n, have left for Geraldton, Western Australia, where they will organise an txpioring party. Mr Favene proposes to inspect a large area of unlocked country, and subs quently to undertake a trip into the unexplored region between the tracks of Forest and Warburton. Should the season be favorabh he intend* to s'rike southwards, cutting the tracks of other explorers at right angles. Mr Favene fs being assisted by the Royal Geogra! 1 phical Society of Australasia.
