VICTORIA.
Mbuockns, February 11. The Board of Health declines to revoke the proclamation constituting Port Darwin an infected port. An English syndicate has offered ;& 3,000,000 for the late Messrs Manifold's estate, m the Western district, comprising 120,000 acres and stock. The negotiations which have been proceeding between the Victorian Government and the Government of Fiji for the establishment of a reciprocity treaty are suspended, owing to the Imperial Act on the subject of treaties not applying to the laUer colony. The first section of the Exhibition annexes, covering four actes of ground, has been completed. A dispute has arisen between the Tramway Company and their employes regarding the formation of the Union, and the men threaten to strike m consequence. The third plaintiff obtained ,£2500 damages for injuries sustained m the Windsor railway accident. A serious disturbance occurred at Pentridge over contraband articles found on prisoners. It appears that a number of prisoners locked themselves m a tannery and defied the warders, but wore eventually quieted after a desperate fight. It was feared bloodshed would result, but the sentries were frightened to use their rifles, lest they should hit the warders. The outbreak is considered far more serious than the one which occurred m that institution twenty-five years ago.
