INOCULATION EXPERIMENTS.

Rvdney, February li For some months past Doctors Batcher and Elite have been conducting experiments m the Darling district inoculated rabbits with a dig ace which is found among them m parts of Victoria and Tasmania. Eight hundred rabbits were confined m an enclosure a id inoculation with the disease with success, bunny wasting away m seven days. To test the effect on other animals, a number were inoculated at the same time, and exhibited no sign of the dieeaeo, thus proving that it was peculiar to the rabbit, it is claimed that the disease can be easily and safely spread. With a view to arriving at the best inoculating schemes the Government have decided to appoint a Commission, composed of experts chosen from the colonies, to whom all such schemes will be referred.
The Agßnt-General has been directed to obtain a quantity of microbes and directions for their use from M. Pasteur.
