THE GREAT VINE OF KINNEL.
The Back Hamburg vine of Klonel, a former st*t of the M»onabß, near Killln, at the western end of Looh Tay, m Perthshire, ii one of the great sights of the Breadalbane country. It is now, the largest specimen of a growing vine In the United Kingdom. The Marquis of Bread* a'bane, on whose grounds of Aaohmore It is situated, io justly p»oad of this splendid vine, and hau arranged that It may be seen by the publio every Wednesday between the hours of ten and two o'olock. When we^awit thiaaatumo, about five hundred branches of lusoious'grapos were hanging from it, which, at an average of two pounds per buooh, means about half a ton of grapes. The yield of this prolifio vine In reoent years is interesting. In 1«79 the yield was 1,179 bnnohes } bnt 376 bunohes bolng taken off green only 8 >3 were left to oome to maturity. In 1880 the yiflid wan 1,274 Hunches, 560 taken > ff, and 714 left to manure. In 1833 the yield was 2 103 bunch c ; In 18R4, 5{,102 : n IMS, 2 Bi4; «n 1883 2867: and m <=87 it yielded 2 648 bunobei. 500 only btlng left to mature It now fi is « glass home two hundred and seventy fo^t long, U growing as rapidly aa ever, and is remarkably healthy looking.
