THE PANAMA CANAL.
The Panama Canal Company has arranged with the Credit Lyonnaiie to provide the enterprise with fands until the issue of new obligations. The London " Standard's " cor. respondent, writing from Paris on December 29th says :— " In an interview to-day with Senor Mateas, the Colombian Minister doolareft that neither by threats or cajolsry would hit Government be induced to allow the Americana to have anything to do with the Canal. Even if De Lesseps failed to complete the work they would rather do without the Canal than see America oomplete it.
