Thli eplondid animal girthed 8 feet 8 Inches, and his live weight was . 17 h cvrt., or 1960'.b5, showing a gain of 186. hs per day for bulk. The following are the particulars and his dead weight :— Head and hide (which were kept together for etoffiing), 138.08 ; tail, 2 bi ; btck vein, 3 ibs j liver, 201bB ; heart, 7tbs ; fat and iuet (33 and 28),51b1b5; tdil>°r, 155.ba; lights, 71bs ; tripe, 35. b3 ; puddings, 14bs ; blood, water, and food, I4lbs— total, : carcase of beef, 12owt lqr., or 14731b»f The animal thus showed no less than 75 per cent of dead meat to live weight Such a high pe r centage of dead meat to live weight haa been very seldom reaohed — "N.B.
