I The Postal Conference met again today, when the representatives of the Eastern Extension Cable Company were m attendance and laid their proposals respecting cable charges before the members. The Compeny m their statement declare they have lost ;£iS,oqo since the New Zealand Government withdrew the grant of a subsidy, and that they would be willing to sell the cable to that colony for ;£ 1 20,000, guaranteeing the cable m good workirg condition, and would provide for najntaining it for a defined periodj alternatively they are willing to agree to redice the rates if a stated yearly reverie is guaranteed, or if they are banded fie land line charges collected by thftiolonies. Mr Rowan who, represents t& Pacific Cable Company' will lay hs proposals before the Conference to-morrow, and then Sir William Fitaerbert will, on behalf of the New Zealand Government, lay down their proposals. Resolutions were passe< to-day favoring intercolonial posil notes, and the parcel post system was recommended, the price to besd per pound with a minimum of rod. It was suggested thai each clony should adopt the system when sasi ble.
