A MADMAN IN A TRAIN.
The Melbourne correspondent of the Dunedin w Evening Star, writing on the ' 16th instant, says :— A Benaational inotdentcocurred at Glenrowan last week. A man got into a train without purchasing a ticket, and when 'he porter asked him to show his pass he drew a revolver from h s pocket and presented it at the head of •he terrified official. He did not fire, .hough he had the opportunity, but refused stunb-irnly to leave the carriage. At the same time he ordered the porter to make himself scarce Tho mai needed no s cond reminder to do this. The train qrent on to Wangaratta, where the police were acquainted with what had occurred. But it was a ticklish hiog to arrest the man, who might have Bhot the first person he saw. A«. length, however, the railway guar 1 got the carriage m which he was ahuatej. The train went on, and by a ' dexterous manoeuvre the poicecloaed the carriage aod secured the man iniide without any injury. He waa then lodged m the Wangaratta 'o k-np.
