(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Philadelphia, January 11;
A terrible railway disaster occurred near Wyoming, m Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, yesterday. A passenger train, crowded with passengers, was run into by a goods train. The carriages of the former were smashed to pieces, and the wreckage was fired by the stoves used for warming the compartments. Most appalling scenes were witnessed. A great many persons were unable to extricate themselves from the wreckage, and were burned to death. A number of those who did get free were frozen to death, fhe weather being bitterly cold at the time. Nearly all of those who escaped deatfy have received serious injuries. The scene was so horrible that the conductor of the train lost his reason.
