Consols are qudted at a premium of 355. Tinplate workers have fixed the price at 153 per box.
There is a further advance m all good colonial stocks. New Zealand four per cents are quoted at 98 Hides arejrealising from 4d to 4^d per Ib. The frozen meat market is steadier, but there is no improvement m prices. Tallow is firm from 24s 6d to 25s per cwt. German beetroot sugar had declined 3d.
Melbourne, January 12- --,.. Breadstuff's, are fairly active. New wheat is 3s 8d ; new flour, £Z ; fine oats, as iod to ..as. ndj barley, 4s 7d j maize) 3s Q}£d.: f Sugar, prime crystals, £26- 10s. Adelaide wheat is dull at 3s 2d for shipping parcels ; flour, roller made, is Hops are firmer.
fcTDNEY, January 12. The produce market is dull, with the exception of maize, which is at 4s to 4s id, and firm at that. Quotations — Wheat, milling, 3s 4d*to 3s 8d ; fowls', 2s iod to 35, scarce ; feed oats, 2s to 2s 2d ; milling, 2s 3d, plentiful j potatoes. 45s to 50s for the new crop ; bran, 7d to 7^d. The market is glutted.
