IRISH AFFAIRS.

[FIB PBESB ASSOOIATIGff] (Received January 9, 11 50 a.m.) London, January 8. The assizes show that a great decrease m crime has taken place m the West and South of Ireland. Mr W. J. Lane,M.P. for Cork, has just been arrested on a charge of intimidating. In consequence of the appeal of Mr Wilfred Blunt being disallowed, the shops m Porturana, County Galway, where the appeal was heard have been closed and hung with crape.
