ENGLAND AND THE VATICAN.
The Duke of Norfolk, who was the bearer of an important letter from the Pope to her Majesty and the Marquis of Salisbury, arrived to-day, and he has returned to the Vatican with further , letters. London, Januiry 7. The mission of the Duke of Norfolk is denied. It is reported that Mr Gladstone has had an audience with the Pope.
