REPORTED ROBBERY OF BANK NOTES.
Melbourne, December 28.
It is reported that several cancelled pound notes of the Bank of Australia have been circulating m this city recently. The circumstances poii t to a theft having been committed m the unissuable note department of the Bank. The number of notes abstracted is not yet known, but believed to be small. No proof exists as to any official being implicated m the affair.
