THE GREENWOOD CONCERTS
— + The last of these classical and popular concerts was given In the Oddfellow •' Hall last evening. The programme was a varied and attractive one, and eaoh item waa rendered m auoh pleasing style aa to evoke raptarona applause and many enoores. The moat notioable Items ware : — " Aladollne," sweetly auog by Miss Agatha, who, In reaponse to an encore, gave " Poor Wandering One" ; " Jewel Song," from Faust, exquisitely rendered by Miss Marlbel, who substitute d " Love w«a ono a a little boy" for an encore. This young lady also recited "Poor People" — one of Victor Hugo's beat effort a — moat artistically, evoking enthusiastic applause. Miss Maribel's executloa of "II Miiarere da Trovatore" will long be remembered as a moat suo* eesafal effort to Interpret the Idea of the composer (Gottshalfc). Mlsa Agatha played a solo on the violin m excellent style, and Miss Ruby and Master Greenwood acquitted themselves well In solos on the pianoforte. The trioa— "Three Uttle malda " and " Here's a howde-do " brought down tha house, We understand that a farewell oonoert | will be given by Mrs Greenwood and her clever children on their return from the South, then en route lot Australia, when we should advise those of onr readers who have not been present at either of those first given to avail themselves of the opportunity of doing so then afforded.
