The prooeedlngaoommenoedahortly after 11 o'olook at the (Girls' Schoolroom which had been prettily decorated with flowers for (be occasion. Mr Jameßon presided and explained that the Chairman of tho Board of Governors would have boon present had he not been engaged m Parliamentary dutlea at. Wellington. The speaker oomplimonted the pupils upon their bright and healthy appearance which the toila of tho final exomluatlon* had evidently been unable to Impair. Apologies bad been reoolvod from aome of the gentlomon who usually attended, on account of a variety of duiieß and engagements, The report of tho mistress was read by the Secretary and was of a very encouraging character. The Chairman then called upon Me D. H. Brown to present tho prlzaa, After the prizaa had boon presented, the company adjourned to the Boys' side, where a similar ceremony was gone through. Mr Buchanan, the Master of tho Boys' School, reported favorably of the achoul, m point of numbers and progress. The Key D. MoNiool presented the prfzip, and urged upon his youthful auditory the great Importance of a liberal eduoatlon. The following is the list of prize winners : — GIRLS' SCHOOL.
