THE WAITOTARA PETITION.
Wanganoi, December 6. W. Hutchison, the respondent, sitting member for Waitotara, was examine 1 at great length, by Mr Travels, his evidence being a denial of any corrupt intention m regard to any of ttio particular circumstances alleged a? illegal acts, and an explanation of the circumstances surrounding each particular charge, The witness was m the box for over six hours, He ssvore that he bad paid no moneys except for advertiang and hire of public halls throughout the election contest. He was under no promise or liability to anyone, aad would not pay anything further if asked. The Court adjourned at 5 o'clock p,rn.
