Wellington, November 22. The following protest of the Wellington Radical Reform Association has been forwarded to the Minister of Education •gainst the Government proposal to alter the education system of the oolony :-(«) Because it will, especially m large towns, throw a great number of children out of sohool ; (b) that depriving children between five and six of the right of attending sohool will be injurious to their future training and life ; (c) that the tedactlona propo«ed »re bo excessive that the salaries of teachers will have to be reduced nearly 25 qer cent;, and small schools m outlying districts will havo to be dosed ; (d) that stoppage of the extra 5i capitation fs a greater proportionate reduction than the Government propose m tbe other departments of the public service ; («) that the eleotors of the colony generally, at tha reoent eleotlous, determined that tha system should not be aUered, and the proposal of the Minister of Education is m violation of his own and the pledges of three quarters of the members of the House.
