The elections for the Wakanui fttri the Upper Aflhbarton Ridings of the County Ooanoll took place yesterday, with the following results ; — WAKANUI BIDING. . Jameis Brown 91 G.W.Leadley 89 Majority for Brown ... 2 UPPEB ASHBURTON BIDING. Hago Fcledlander 132 B. Campbell ... 25 Majority for Frledlander 107 - There were two polling places m the Upper Ashburton Biding — at Miss Bishop'i Store, Alford Forest Road, and at Greenitreet. The figures recorded at each mf actively were as followo : — Alford Foreit Ko»d— H Friedlander, 110 ;B. Campbell, 24. Greenstreet— H. Fried* lander, 22 ; B. Campbell, 1. Two informal votes were reoorded m Wftkitani tod one m Upper Ashbutton.
