THE OWEN REEF.
Nblsou, November 16. Fews received from the Owen states that the result of the Wakatu United Company's crushing for the four weeks is follows :— The 360 tons of stone orushed 1 yielded 5820zs of amalgam, giving 2100z3 of retorted gold. The Company resumes crushing on '.'rid&y. The mine Ib locking well. The yield is not quite up to • expectations, but is looked on as very j satisfactory for the first crushing. The I yield is a fraction under twelve pennyweights to the ton, and is payable, indeed half that yield on the quantity of stone treated would more than cover all current j expenses. The results have been received here with much satisf notion as proving the Owen to be a payable field.
